Getting out of the house isn’t a requirement for a great date night. Being creative and using what you already have is not only practical, it can also be exciting. Relationships are built on trust and vulnerability, but they are also about friendship and fun. Getting playful makes date time more exciting. When leaving the house isn’t an option, here are some ideas to get you started:
Order in some Thai food and make tie dye shirts. Crafting is fun and engages parts of our brains that help us relax, also, completing something that you can wear and remember your date night by might continue to bring joy even after the date is over.
Try eating sushi and making origami, extra points if you make the sushi together. Sushi can be scary for some people, but it’s exciting to try something new with someone you trust. Making origami will help you explore crafting while also being able to practice communicating and learning more about each other.
Pizza and building legos. Making pizza can be so much fun, and what better way to get to know someone than by analyzing what toppings they prefer on their pizza? Date nights aren’t just about getting sexy. Sometimes you want to talk, and having something to do while your hands are busy, with the legos of course, can provide a safe way to get to know each other.
Chocolate and Wine tasting. With a little bit of research you can explore some wonderful wine pairings with all different kinds of chocolates. You can even get your items delivered before your date night and set up a thoughtful experience for you and your partner. There are chocolates that have an aphrodisiac effect added to them. If you want to make it extra special, set up a massage in the bedroom for after you imbibe.
Plan your dream vacation. Cozy up on the couch in your PJs and write some random vacation ideas to throw in a hat. Pull one out and spend the evening planning your dream vacay. Not only will this help you plan something hopeful for the future and get you looking ahead, it will also help you work on communication skills and create space to share expectations.
Video games and snack foods. It’s important to balance the time that you set aside for dates, and participate in activities that represent both partners. Video gaming may not be your thing, but it could make your partner feel really special if you set up a gaming night. It would also be fun to plan this with your couple friends and have an online group date. A Mario Kart tournament with your favorite couples might be something that strengthens that bond with your babe.
